Wiltshire Police and Avon and Somerset Police have agreed to enter - TopicsExpress

Wiltshire Police and Avon and Somerset Police have agreed to enter into a strategic alliance, it was announced today. The alliance, agreed by the Police and Crime Commissioners of Wiltshire and Swindon and Avon and Somerset and their respective Chief Constables, is intended to help the two forces to achieve significant savings over the next four years. The two PCCs, Angus Macpherson and Sue Mountstevens, have stressed that the alliance is not a merger or takeover. The two forces will stay as separate entities, but will share resources where it makes sense and where there is scope for further efficiencies. The priority of both PCCs and Chief Constables is to protect local policing, which remains the cornerstone of both forces.
