Wiltshire Police are appealing for information regarding an assault which took place in Calne. The victim, a 21 year old local man, had been walking along Bremhill View towards Lickhill Road, Calne at about 1.15 am on Thursday 25th December 2014 (Christmas Day). A group of approximately four men approached him from the general direction of Lickhill Road. As they got near to the Bremhill Rise Social Club there was an altercation between the victim and one of the men in the group which resulted in the two men ending up on the ground. One of the other men is reported to have kicked the victim to the head causing a cut above his left eye. He then sustained further blows to his head. It is thought that the offenders may have then gone over to the ‘smoking benches’ that are immediately outside the Social Club. A paramedic attended scene and the victim received hospital treatment for his facial injury. Anyone who was in the area at the time or who has any information regarding this incident is asked to contact PC Peter Fennell at Chippenham Police Station on 101. Alternatively call Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 where details may be left anonymously if preferred.
