Wine, Dairy & Fine Food Coordinator - Homebush The Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS) is a not for profit organisation that has been helping to shape agriculture in Australia since 1822. Boasting a membership base of 15,000 people, the RAS is responsible for conducting the iconic Sydney Royal Easter Show and the Sydney Royal Wine, Dairy, Beer & Cider and Fine Food Shows. The RAS manages Sydney Showground and the Australasian Animal Registry (AAR). The RAS conducts over 400 events each year at Sydney Showground including the Sydney Royal Easter Show (SRES), V8 Supercars, a number of music festivals and our venue is the home of the Greater Western Sydney Giants AFL team. A fantastic opportunity exists for a suitably qualified person to join the team managing the competitions that fall under the Sydney Royal Wine, Dairy, Beer & Cider and Fine Food Shows banner. The Sydney Royal Shows set the standard in Australian wine and food judging. Sydney Royal Competition judging areas comprise of Wine, Cheese and Dairy Produce, Aquaculture, Beer & Cider, Branded Beef, Branded Lamb, Baking, Coffee, Deli Meat, Olive Oil, Pasta and Regional Food. As part of the Agriculture section, you will coordinate and be part of a team overseeing the planning and execution of the Sydney Fine Food Show, as well as related Sydney Royal events. You will also demonstrate the necessary drive and initiative to take ownership of key projects that enhance the profile and reputation of the Sydney Royal Wine, Dairy, Beer & Cider and Fine Food Shows amongst industry and the general public. The successful applicant will be a self-motivated, proactive, enthusiastic and flexible team player, possessing a high level of personal commitment and focus. You will have prior event management experience, excellent verbal and written communication skills, time management skills, database experience and excellent computer proficiency. Knowledge and passion of the agricultural, food and wine industries will be highly regarded. Attention to detail and a desire for ‘getting it right’ will form the basis of your success in this role. While standard hours are 8.30am to 5.00pm, the nature of the event industry means that there will often be occasions when you will be required to work outside these hours.
