Winged-cosplayhorror! For every cosplayer out there wanting do to wings or anything else like that, which means you have something heavy strapped to your body that OTHER people can bumb into, please read this. This weekend, I was cosplaying Kid Icarus at Spillexpo. It was a reuse of a cosplay since I didnt have the time to make something new. Ive worn this once more at ToruCon and even there it was kind of horrible. But back to the story! Well, Spillexpo, with all its beautiful nerds, apparently doesnt know this: When you see a cosplayer with something big on, you do NOT try to break everything on them. If anyone is feeling like Im talking to them, really, shame on you. I know what I do risk when putting on something that big on myself and that I myself must be careful, but really, you dont have to walk straight into me. And for that one dude that felt like walking into my wing, spinning me around and therefore breaking my wing and inflicting pain onto me(the carrier of the wings), what were you thinking? They may look more durable than they are. And, Im saying this one for every fragile costume there ever is, cosplayers dont like having their cosplays BROKEN. So my fellow wing-cosplayers, if considering wings, also consider the fact that some people will walk into you. And that, in worst case scenario, they will break! Luckily I had a few people taking care of me, so though one wing didnt make it, I still have my leftie left!
