Winning In the Marketplace. Exodus 3:6 “I am the God of your father- the God of Abraham,, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob”…. God is pleased to introduce Himself across generations indicating that He desires strongly that our faith in Him be transferred from generation to generation. Handing over faith from generation to generation is the most effective way of perpetuating it. The devil also realized that his most effective way of spreading and perpetuating deceit is to deceive a generation and allow them to pass it down such that subsequent generations just copy the dummy without knowing that those who handed it down were themselves deceived. Thus it continues nonstop until God reveals His word to someone to counter it. See Gen 2:8-17 & 3: 17-19. God arranged for how all our needs will be met through obedience but the devil planted lusts and distracted man from God. Instead of we tending the garden and eating whatever we desired, we were cast out to go and till and plant the field in which we cannot create the generous variety that was available in the garden neither can we our success rate be half as much as it were when we only tended. The marketplace was borne out of the need to fend for ourselves, to exchange the output of our labor with other people in a manner that will yield some gain. Since this is our lot, the devil is therefore going about telling people to devote their entire lives fending for themselves. He tells them that since you have been asked to fend for yourself, you had better faced it squarely and forgotten about Him who asked you out of Eden. Don’t bother to ask for His forgiveness and be reinstated to the Eden model of living. Focus your entire energy and life in fending for yourselves. The truth is that that mode of operation is accursed and continuing therein will never ever be effective.. How else can one explain the fact that since the fall of man, man has been fending for himself through the instrumentality of the marketplace in the pursuit of silver & gold, power, relevance, significance, influence, fame etc? With all the obsession with the pursuit of all these things the worldwide success rate is much less than 10% given that we do not have up to 10% as multi-millionaires in USD. The failure of the marketplace is particularly regrettable seeing that: 1. It is too engaging (busy) James 4:13 2. It is too pervasive (encroaching) Matt 21:12 3. Even in the occasional cases of individual success, it gives false confidence, Luke 12: 16-21, it also has obvious limitations, Acts 3:1-10. We need to demonstrate to the market place that their approach is not working by being living testimonies to the God-approved approach that works wonders in all situations as follows: 1. By showing a better success rate—Producing better results through obedience—Seeking first the kingdom of God Matt 6:33 Gen 30:27 & 31: 4-9 2. Seeking The Power of God to deliver beyond silver & gold: Acts 3:1-10. As sons we need to start commanding situations to give way. We have to start demanding miracles, casting out devils by placing faith in God’s word. The MARKETPLACE WILL YIELD TO OUR PREACHING WHEN WE DEMONSTRATE THE POWER OF GOD.
