Winning over trust of the villages in Udhayapura, Baldhare (English translation provided below) ಚೆನ್ನರಾಯಪಟ್ಟಣ ತಾಲ್ಲೂಕಿನ ಉದಯಪುರ ಮತ್ತು ಬಲದಾರೆಯಿಂದ ಆಯ್ದ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ. ನಾವು ಪ್ರಚಾರ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಮಾಡಲು ಚೆನ್ನರಾಯಪಟ್ಟಣ ತಾಲ್ಲೂಕಿನ ಉದಯಪುರ ಮತ್ತು ಬಲದಾರೆಗೆ ತೆರಳಿದಾಗ ನಮಗೆ ಅಚ್ಚರಿ ಕಾದಿತ್ತು. ಜನರಿದ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳ ಸುರಿಮಳೆ. ಯಾರು ನೀವು? ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೇಕೆ ಬಂದಿರಿ? ನೀವು ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್, ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಅಥವಾ ಜೆಡಿಎಸ್ ನವರೇ? ದಯವಿಟ್ಟು ನೀವು ನಮ್ಮ ಹಳ್ಳಿಗೆ ಬರಬೇಡಿ, ಹೊರಟುಹೋಗಿ. ಈ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳು ಬಂದದ್ದು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಿಂದ. ಅದರಲ್ಲು ಅವರು ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಉದಯಪುರದ ಬಳಿ ಮತಗಟ್ಟೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಕಬೇಡಿರೆಂದು ಮನವಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರು. ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗದೆಂದು ವಿವರಿಸಿ, ನೀವು ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಮತವನ್ನು ಹಾಕಲು ಇಛ್ಛಿಸದಿದ್ದರೆ, ನೋಟಾ()ವನ್ನು ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಬಹುದೆಂದು ವಿವರಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ನಂತರ ನಾವು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಆಮ್ ಆದ್ಮಿ ಪಕ್ಷದ ಬಗ್ಗಿ ವಿವರಿಸಿ, ನಮ್ಮ ದ್ಯೇಯ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ವರಾಜ್ಯದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟೆವು. ಅವರು ತಾಳ್ಮೆಯಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನಾಲಿಸಿದರು. ಕುಡಿಯುವ ನೀರು ಅವರ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಸಮಸ್ಯಯಾಗಿತ್ತು. ವೃದ್ದ ಮಹಿಳೆ ಮತ್ತು ಮಗುವೊಂದು ಸೈಕಲ್ ಮೇಲೆ ನೀರು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ಚಿತ್ರ ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಹೇಳುತ್ತದೆ. ಕಡೆಗೆ, ಅವರಿಂದ ಈ ರೀತಿಯ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯೆ ದೊರೆಯಿತು. ಈ ಬಾರಿ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಬೆಂಬಲಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ. ನೋಡೋಣ, ನೀವು ನಮಗೆ ಹೇಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡಿರುವೆಂದು?. ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿ ಹಲವಾರು ವರ್ಷಗಳಾದರೂ ಮೂಲಭೂತ ಅವಶ್ಯಕತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪೂರೈಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ವಿಫಲರಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆಯಂದು ಎತ್ತಿ ತೋರುತ್ತದೆ. Here are a few pictures from Udhayapura, Baldhare and other villages in the Channarayapatana taluk where AAP candidate for Hassan Constituency, Mr. Santhosh Mohan Gowda and his team campaigned. The moment the team entered these villages, they were questioned as to why they had come there and if they were from Congress, BJP or JDS parties? They categorically stated that if the team was from any of these parties they will not be permitted to enter the village! These questions came especially from the women in the villages. In fact, the team found out that the people had requested the District Commissioner to not to put up any booth in and around Udhaypura! (The response from DC, we were told, was that it cannot be done and that a booth had to be put up in all locations and further, that if they did not want to vote for anyone they can select the None of the Above (NOTA) option instead). After clarifying their identity, the team proceeded to introduce themselves, the party and explain about Swaraj and the achievement of the Government of AAP in Delhi in 49 days. Our team was patiently heard and was informed that the main problem they had was with regard to water. (See attached pictures; it was heartbreaking to see elderly ladies and school going kids carrying water on cycle). Towards the end, the team was elated to hear the people say they are willing to give AAP a chance and will support AAP. Will you?
