Winston-Salem Federal Credit Union Scholarship Amount: WSFCU will award up to five (5) $3,000.00 scholarships. Eligibility 1. The applicant must be a member of the Winston-Salem Federal Credit Union with accounts in good standing. Applicant has to be a primary account holder not just a joint on an account. 2. The applicant must have joined WSFCU by October 1, 2013. 3. The applicant must be planning to attend an accredited college/university/community college. 4. Applicant cannot exceed 24 years of age before September 1, 2014. 5. Applicant must be a graduating high school senior or equivalent or a student at an accredited college/university/community college; taking at least twelve (12) credit hours per semester for the 2013-2014 academic year. 6. Applicant may be in an undergraduate or associate’s degree program at a community college. 7. Graduate students are not eligible. 8. Applicant must have a minimum 2.75 cumulative grade point average to apply. Instructions 1. Complete the application form so it is legible. Any application that is not complete or not legible will be withdrawn from consideration. 2. Write an essay explaining the following: “What are your educational and career goals and how will this scholarship assist you in achieving them?” Essay must be typed and should not exceed 250 words. 3. Provide an official transcript(s) from current education institution (college &/or high school). Transcript should be for the most recently completed semester and it must be in a sealed envelope from the school. 4. Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid and provide a copy of your Student Aid Report (SAR) which will reflect your Expected Family Contribution (EFC) score. This score will be used to determine the financial need of an applicant. 5. Do not include any other documents besides the ones listed. If there are additional documents provided, they will not be included when application is being reviewed. ***Please read all instructions carefully. Incomplete applications will be withdrawn from consideration. Please double check all applications before submitting. Submission Instructions 1. Organize and staple your WSFCU Scholarship Application in the following order: a. Complete and Print Application b. A Well Written Essay c. SAR (Student Aid Report) d. Attach the sealed official transcript 2.
