Winter Laughs. She laughs in blizzard flurries of peeling - TopicsExpress

Winter Laughs. She laughs in blizzard flurries of peeling bells. She sparkles in white delight at neer do wells Who find a sudden decency in their hearts For three days of desperately doing their parts. Winter dances In snowfalls Avalanches The laughter of children A rain of snowballs The slow whispering of creaking pipes And the asthmatic coughs of hibernating motor cars. She laughs amid Christmas trees and private Hells Whispers in the ears of old men, Fare thee wells And nurses them through this loneliest of days And smiles, and kisses them and takes them far away. Winter sings Bare branches Influenza The coughing of old men Of last cigarettes Her soft whispering, Your friend is here And pneumonia kisses them goodnight and bids farewell. She laughs at the petty fears of Summers dreams She knows that in the end its her that will win When a wolf will leap into the air and eat the sun Be glad that we will see another spring. Happy Yule to one and all Enjoy once more the stretching of the days. Until Fimbulwinter comes.
