Winter has been challenging also in Vuokatti, but Vuokatti Hiihto remains to be organized in March 22. Organizers evaluated current snow and track situations on the planned course. Conclusions were clear: according to weather forecasts, Vuokatti Hiihto can be organized. However, there will most likely be changes on the route, as the tracks on frozen lakes are not in good condition at the moment. At the moment the organizers have two or three alternatives for the route. Final decisions about the course will be make in the beginning of Vuokatti Hiihto week. At the moment snow and ski trail situation in Vuokatti is quite good under the circumstances. Trails close to Vuokatti Sports Institute area (Alamaasto) are in best condition, as well as trails on Kettumäki–Porttivaara area. The next official press release about snow, track and course situation will be given on Friday 14. Please be understanding in case of possible changes on courses or distances.
