Winter, spring, summer or fall--who knows. Saturday, May 18th - TopicsExpress

Winter, spring, summer or fall--who knows. Saturday, May 18th brought heavy frost to wind shields, boat covers and even one report of frozen gloves at Timber Ridge. By Wednesday, high temps above 85. The lake however is very stable, level is 609.5 and steady temp is around 70 degrees in most spots, clarity goes from muddy west of 107 to dingy around the dam. The bite has been sporadic, Sunday and Monday were pretty slow, but has improved as the week went on. Still a lot of people fishing the bank, but some have moved out to the stick ups, best seems to be the off-set coves close to the main lake with no wind. Black and chartreuse is still the color, but crappie nibblets have helped also. As always, stay on the move, you usually dont catch more than 3 crappie in a spot. Be safe this weekend and thank a Veteran for their service!
