Winter was a busy season for Avodah Consultants I didnt even realise it was cold, I didnt event use my winter armour at all. The gracious Almighty did what He does best opening the right doors at the right time and doing the unexpected. Im ever grateful for the ability to use my gift daily. Early mornings and latenights dont feel like work, 4or5 out of 7 nights Id get into bed at midnight only to be up in the next 5hrs sometimes less. I love my work and I know there will be enough sleeping in the grave. This winter has seen me restructuring my life, time and relationships . Ive missed all the parties and weddings, sometimes because of work but most times because I have chosen to take the uncommon path in pursuit if the icon within. Ive decided to invest my time and presence in things that add value to me,my family and eternity. Ive pursued quality over quantity, used an eagles eye to interrogate everything, asked myself several questions and defined my space. Ive taken a relook at faith and decided to be literal. Ive made personal and business decisions that defy economic and social logic, much to the alarm of onlookers.(the ones who used to occupy the friends space) Ive found encouragement in unlikely places. My literal walk is paying off daily because He who made the promise is delivering. My prayer is changing and becoming bolder Im looking up and asking for the nations and by the time I look down daily bread is there. This winter has seen me facing my fears and telling the molehills that used to be mountains to move. Old dreams have been dusted. Ive chosen to defy the odds, Im not part of the pattern and statistic. Ive chosen and defined my path and process, Jesus said its written, I am one of those its written about. Are you living your dream? What are you willing to give up in order to move closer ? Is it the applause and company of fake friends who will deny you even before the cork crows. What are you willing to give in order to function at your optimum? Are you willing to learn a new skill, invest in your personal growth. Forgo a holiday and attend a course? Icons make uncommon sacrifices, see where they are going and begin living now. Icons have few but quality relationships. Icons dont hit the bar every week, their occasional presence on the social scene is a rarity to be treasured. They live a rigorous life of discipline and order. Icons pay the price and pursue the dream at all costs. Icons climb on setbacks to reach for the next level. Find something you love and do it everyday. Hold onto your faith and make it relevant to your work. Im a believer who uses my faith to apply organisational psychology principles to transform organisations and people. AVODAH- WORK AND WORSHIP; work is a form of worship!
