Winterberg National – Port Elizabeth Enduro It was an early start to the morning and nerves where coming out as we arrived in Patensie and got ready to race. Lap 1 was a sighting lap; this meant that we could sight all 3 special stages. Lap 2 was the start of the racing laps, and with having completed half of this lap my oil cap decided to break in half. I managed to find a 12 gauge shot gun shell which replaced this almost perfectly I finish this lap and came 13 minutes short. The 3rd lap was no better with my rear shock losing its gas and thus forcing me to retire after this lap as my front forks also packed up. I unfortunately got caught by a very bad flu bug the week before the race that is still not out of my system and battled to breathe throughout the race. All in all this was a well organised race and it was good to see the MSA rules being applied with force. Thank you to all my sponsors for making the past weekend possible and for standing behind me, namely Mitas Tyres Yamaha Southern Africa Kargo Racing Kargo National (Pty) Ltd AMP South Africa Acerbis Racestar Graffix Leatt Protectives Shoei DM Cabling Port Elizabeth @IRTDistribution Enduro Engineering South Africa
