Wisdom From Nona If any man sin..... (1 John 2:1) Mercy does not record nor charge me with my continual coming, burdened and contrite, to kneel at the foot of the cross. Its me again, Lord. I have sinned. I have grieved your Holy Spirit by a hasty word- an evil thought- a wrong attitude- a selfish act. One, more deserving of your grace, cannot be imagined, but I cry as another penitent cried long ago. Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. (Psalm 51:2-3) The Faithful and the Just has given His sacred word, that if I confess, He will forgive in spite of my unworthiness. His precious blood is my advocate and my hope. He answers with the kiss of forgiveness- light floods the shadows out of existence. Ineffable peace relaxes the taut nerves and ragged edges of my spirit. I leave the place of repentance with my transgressions blotted out. I am abundantly pardoned by Jesus who opened that fountain in the house of David for sin and uncleanness. Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood... (Revelation 1:5) He has restored the broken fellowship and communion interrupted by my human frailty. I bring to Him my worshipful praises and lay my grateful heart at His feet. Oh, what bliss!
