Wisdom Part 28 Pro 28:1 The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion. + People believe and become what they think. So if a person thinks about doing wickedness, then they will expect wickedness to come, or they constantly fear that trouble is coming because of the wickedness they have already done. But people who do not practice wrong doings, or only think about doing good expect goodness to come to them. Pro 28:2 For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof: but by a man of understanding and knowledge the state thereof shall be prolonged. + Notice how government keep getting bigger and bigger the more the United States becomes corrupt, but i righteous man can prolong the United States if the people are wise enough to elect him. Pro 28:3 A poor man that oppresseth the poor is like a sweeping rain which leaveth no food. + If a poor person oppresses other poor people, then there is no mercy or compassion in that person. Pro 28:4 They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them. + People who do wrong like to encourage others to do wrong, but people who do right encourage others to do right. Pro 28:5 Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things. + Seeking the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and evil people do not consider God’s ways. Pro 28:6 Better is the poor that walketh in his uprightness, than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich. + Being rich does not make people good or bad. The choices people make is what reveals their nature. Pro 28:7 Whoso keepeth the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of riotous men shameth his father. + Raise your children to be obedient or they may cause you great shame. Pro 28:8 He that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor. + Money that is earned wickedly will eventually be taken from the person who earned it. Pro 28:9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination. + If you are disobedient to the Lord then your prays will be hindered. Pro 28:10 Whoso causeth the righteous to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit: but the upright shall have good things in possession. + Jesus said it would be better to have a mill stone tied to your neck and be cast into the sea, the to cause one of his children to sin. Pro 28:11 The rich man is wise in his own conceit; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out. + Rich people will usually be prideful and arrogant because of their wealth, but a person with understanding will see through to the rich mans true heart. Pro 28:12 When righteous men do rejoice, there is great glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden. + When kind people are in power people feel safe, but when a wicked person is in power people fear persecution. Pro 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. Pro 28:14 Happy is the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief. + People who do not fear the Lord will try to cover their sins; this will cause all that they try to do to not prosper, and trouble will be in every direction he takes. Pro 28:15 As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people. + When wicked people are in power they will devour all that are subject to them. “Over work them, or make unreasonable demands of them. Pro 28:16 The prince that wanteth understanding is also a great oppressor: but he that hateth covetousness shall prolong his days. + Here the word “wanteth” mean lacking. So when a prince or ruler lacks understanding he will become an oppressor. A person who does not desire other peoples belongings or their relationships extends his life span. It is destructive to want things that you can not have, and if you take them from another person then you may suffer their wrath. Pro 28:17 A man that doeth violence to the blood of any person shall flee to the pit; let no man stay him. + Do not harbor a violent person from justice. It will only lead to trouble or even to you being the victim of violence by their hand. Pro 28:18 Whoso walketh uprightly shall be saved: but he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once. + If you do right then you have very little to fear, but if you continue to wrong it will eventually catch up with you. Pro 28:19 He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that followeth after vain persons shall have poverty enough. Pro 28:20 A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent. + Wealth from hard work is not easily lost, but people who seek the “get rick quick” schemes will almost always loose their investment. Pro 28:21 To have respect of persons is not good: for for a piece of bread that man will transgress. + It is not good to offer or take bribes, or to place one person higher than the another. Pro 28:22 He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him. + People who seek quick wealth from ill gotten gain will suffer much trouble and poverty. Pro 28:23 He that rebuketh a man afterwards shall find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue. + Flattery does not give good advice, but true guidance is always helpful. Pro 28:24 Whoso robbeth his father or his mother, and saith, It is no transgression; the same is the companion of a destroyer. + If you see someone stealing from their family and they say it is OK, then know that that person is oppressed by a powerful spirit. Pro 28:25 He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be made fat. +Proud people always cause contentions. People who trust in the Lord should not lack anything. Pro 28:26 He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered. + Our desires can lead us into trouble, so consider all your desires wisely before pursuing them. Pro 28:27 He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse. Pro 28:28 When the wicked rise, men hide themselves: but when they perish, the righteous increase. + People who do not help the poor when it is in their ability to do so will suffer much trouble, and when the wicked are removed people will celebrate.
