Wisdom in the Home "Through wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledg the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches" (Proverbs 24:3,4). The construction of a house ideally reqiures the best materials. We need wisdom and knowledge to mke these choices. Eveyone who feels lackig i those virtues can ask God for them with the assurance that his petitionwill be answerd. Like Soloman,we can express our wish to the Lord: " Now give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people; for who can judge this great people of yours?" (2 Chronicles 1:10). God has put the building of our home in the hands of His daughters. What a great responsibility! What a beautiful privilege! Now is the time to prepape homes for heaven so that they may form part of the great family of God. A beautiful home involves somethingore than beautiful walls and costly furniture. A beautiful home has to do wiith the atmosphere that is lived inside it as well as the way its members are linked. It has to do with the relationship that the family as a whole holds with God and the way in which heavenly virtues are expressed in words and actions. We, as mothers and wives, are responsible in great measure for the atmosphere that regns in ur homes, since we are generally the ones who spend the most time there. Happy mothers create happy homes. On the other hand, domineering mothers can establish atmospheres in their homes that are too strict. A loving mother will raise her children with appropriate self-esteem. Asensible mother makes her children merciful. A tolerant wife makes her marriage prosper. A wife and mother who fears God will make her home a piece of heaven here on earth. With the healp of God, with determination and dedication, we must discover strategies to counteract all forces of evil that try to destroy our families. Worldly fluences can knock at the doors of our homes, but it will depend on us wheather we let them enter. Dear sister, decide today that you will make your home a fence of salvation in which your children, your husban, and all its inhabitants can feel sure of your love and the unconditional love that God has for each one of them.
