With 2014 coming to a close, and ODE having one more show left for - TopicsExpress

With 2014 coming to a close, and ODE having one more show left for the year, I wanna say something I noticed in the past few months. If I never said this, a New Years resolution I had for 2014 for ODE was to focus on all ages shows more, and less 21+ shows, seeing as how we did A LOT of 21+ shows. We really wanted to expand our audience, and make us available for everyone to hear, not just the same people we played with in 2013. For the most part, we kept our promise. We did a lot of all ages shows, and a handful of 21+. But within the past few months, it seems like that option became a dying option. Idk if its just Illinois that has this problem, but it seems like the state is having far fewer venues allowing all ages shows. There was a venue in Lisle a couple of years ago that Depremacy used to play at that was, in my mind, the greatest place to hold a local show. It was divided into 3 sections; one the right was a bar; which helped out the 21+ audience, the center was the venue, and on the left was a fast food joint like Doggie Diner (if that helps put a mental image in your mind). Another great thing about that place was that shows were either free or had the traditional $5 entry fee. Man, I wish we could get that venue back. Or at least something like it again
