With Friends and cousins watching the migration of the Sandhill Cranes. 172,000 cranes are resting, fattening up, and flying through Nebraska this year, near Kearney. We watched them land on sandbars in the Platte in the evening, first in the dozens, then the hundreds, and finally the thousands. It is that point, I no longer felt I was just watching, but experiencing the migration. It was magnificent.
