With James Inhofe slated to take control of the Senate Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee, we can expect him to schedule witch hunt hearings to not only advance his climate denial agenda, but also to intimidate and even threaten climate activists. His most recent press releases are good predictors of his intentions. He should not be only one to call hearings about global climate disruption. And he should not be the first to plan and organize them. Before he takes the gavel for his own ends, we should be scheduling Citizens Climate Hearings across the country. We should use these to reach out to those who need to be motivated for 2016. PLUS, to borrow a quote from Mary McCarthy, we should also use them to expose in advance every word he encourages or allows in HIS hearings, including a, and, and the, as a lie.
