With Miss Jaina due to arrive Tuesday October 28th, we wanted to create a page to keep everyone updated on how she will be doing and her progress as we embark on her journey with CHD. For anyone who hasnt heard, we found out at 33 weeks that our baby girl has congenital heart disease. Talk about the unexpected! Doctors have diagnosed Jaina with 4 separate defects of the heart; Double-outlet right ventricle, transposed great arteries, ventricular septal defect and coarctation of the aorta. After she is born, they will be immediately taking her to Cardinal Glennon Hospital. She will be monitored closely for about 5-6 days after her birth and then will have to undergo open heart surgery to repair the defects. Our hope is that she will be completely healed with just one surgery but doctors say there is the possibility of her having to have two separate surgeries. Once she has had the surgery she will stay in the NICU for no less than a month for recovery and further monitoring. Tom and I are fully trusting God for complete healing of Jainas heart. He is a mighty God and His promises are true. I believe that this trial we must endure is 100% all for Gods glory! We thank you all for your continued support and prayers along the way!
