With Obamacare collapsing, Sen. Shaheen’s actions yesterday regarding an extension of the enrollment period show Granite Staters that she is recognizing the political fallout she will receive as a result of the failing law. However, she is not yet willing to address the real problems that will impact the lives of countless New Hampshire families. With the Employer Mandate already delayed, her remarkably open-ended response to our questions regarding a delay of the Individual Mandate this morning shows that Sen. Shaheen is seeing the disaster her vote for the failing law could cause her career. As someone who was once an enthusiastic supporter of Obamacare, it is noteworthy to watch Sen. Shaheen run away from it as it falls apart during its implementation. While she might make every effort to distance herself from Obamacare in 2013, Granite Staters know that it was her deciding vote in the U.S. Senate in 2009 that forced it upon them.
