With Reference to K Tech Security From a close Friend Hi Paddy, further to our conversation today. We are planning a peaceful protest at the city west hotel on January the 26th it’s the night of the Sunday World Irish Country Music Awards. The reasons for the protest are as follows. K Tech Security, have been involved in some high profile heavy handed and unlawful evictions in Ireland. Their activities have been reported to the Gardai but to date no action that we know of has been taken against them by the Gardai. They gave an undertaking to members of the Land League that they would desist from working on evictions but recently 15 Security men from K Tech, with a Garda Escort turned up at a farm that is still in a legal dispute, bypassed the electric gates and tried to take possession of the family farm. We have informed K Tech that we intend to protest at places where they are contracted to work so after a meeting with members of the Land League it was decided to mount a protest at the City West Hotel. This hotel hires K Tech 24/7 and we want to highlight to the Public who use the Hotel that the Hotel are supporting evictions by giving contracts to K Tech. We have informed the director of operations at city west, John O’Farrell who is also a key member of South Dublin Chambers of Commerce our intensions, on the 26th of January when the Sunday World Irish Country Music Awards takes place at City West Hotel. Our goal is to get a written undertaking from K Tech to desist from their activities and we feel we can get an agreement that would be hugely beneficial to Family’s, Farmer’s and Owner’s of small businesses in Ireland. In the next couple of days we will again talk to the Hotels management and hope they will support us, if they don’t we will talk to Eddie Rowley from the Irish Country Music Association and look for his Associations support. We would like them to put a bit of pressure on the Hotel and help secure an agreement, if not we will have no choice but to go ahead with the protest. With the Luas stopping in Saggart and the village becoming a traffic bottleneck anytime there is an event we hope with the support of other groups who have agreed to support the protest that we can have a successful night and stop K Tech in their tracks and send a message to other Security Contractors that we will not tolerate their treatment of Irish People on behalf of Corrupt Financial Institutions. We would like to invite yourself Paddy and as many Army Veterans as possible to march from the Luas stop in Saggart to the village of Saggart maybe stopping outside the gates of the Hotel for a minute. We can meet with you to discuss the event in more detail if need be and we would appreciate any suggestions you have for the event. Regards for now.
