With Veterans Day coming I thought I would relate an interesting anecdote. It was 1996 and I was stationed at Elmendorf AFB Alaska. The Russians were coming through in their big ass cargo plane as they were transferring food stuff we had given as aid. They were brought into the weather station and I saw the look in their eyes when they saw all the equipment I had. There was at least 10 monitors showing data. Satellite, NEXRAD, AWDS and other items. You could just see their awe at the technology I had at my fingertip.
