With a Severe Weather Warning issued by the BoM for our Region, Council is providing sand piles to assist residents with their preparations. If you require sandbags to minimise flash flooding impacts on your property, make sure you visit one of our sand piles and take along your own shovel and sand bag (plastic shopping bags, soil bags or any suitable sized hessian or synthetic bag) to fill your own. Sand pile locations (sand only) Rockhampton City Exhibition Road, near the Robert Schwarten Pavilion at the Rockhampton Showgrounds. Rockhampton North Farm Street, next to the railway line, opposite Laceys Trailers. Dean Street, near McLeod Park (on high section) Jud Park, Norman Road. Gracemere Car park off Ian Besch Drive, off Fisher Street. Mount Morgan Patterson Street.
