With a heavy heart For anyone who has ever thought what I do for the hens is awesome, or thinks Im a decent sort of person I really need your help. Back in January my dog Boomer (who I rescued off the streets of Indonesia after he was hit by a car and broke his front leg) ruptured his cruciate back knee ligament. Thanks to the kindness of a dear friend who loaned me the money, I was able to have Boomers leg repaired. Since that time I paid it forward, by organizing the rescue of another dog from Nelson, Patsy the working dog who was going to be shot, who had the same injury. I found her a foster home, a permanent home and fundraised for her surgery. But it seems no good deed goes unpunished because on Saturday night just getting down off the couch, Boomer ruptured the ligament of his good back leg. Boomer is now my third dog (all still alive and loving life!) to need both knees surgically repaired. My luck is just dismal, but for every dog my husband and I have paid for the surgeries without assistance. In this case, I have approached my bank, but because we are on one income they have declined a loan. Boomer is just miserable, he is heavily doped up on pain relief while I figure out what the heck to do. My dogs were my children before my children came along, there is nothing I wouldnt do for them. Putting Boomer to sleep just isnt an option. If any of you feel that you can possibly help me in any little way I would be eternally grateful. I am deeply embarrassed to even put up this post, but I feel like I have been sucker punched in the stomach, and I just dont know what to do. Boomer will (hopefully) have his surgery with the same surgeon - Ruth a specialist at Franklin Vets in Papakura.
