With a heavy heart and moist eyes we bid farewell yesterday to our dear braveheart Santosh Koli, an RTI activist and valiant fighter for the rights of the Aam Aadmis for over a decade and the Aam Aadmi party candidate from Seemapuri in Delhi. Santosh Koli’s story is an inspirational saga of an extraordinary girl from a disadvantaged background. A veritable modern day Rani of Jhansi, she fought fearlessly against the corrupt for the rights of the people in her area. They tried fear and intimidation tactics and attacked her 9 times with knives and blades and once even slit her throat, but she was undeterred. Even when her family feared for her and put pressure on her to back off from this work she said- “If I do not do this who else will?” and continued fearlessly.
