With a lot of wheat being harvested in the neighborhood a lot of straw has been put into big square bales and has been trucked to the farm by trucks and pickups. Most of it sits inside the hay-barn, the rest under a tarp outside. Thank the Lord for big bales and equipment to unload. If we had to deal with small straw bales we would have to handle about 60000 bales to have enough straw to last for a year to feed to the cows and to use as bedding with the calves and in the calving pen.
