With a sad heart i have to report that Dillon passed away last night at the shelter. He was old and weak, and had stopped eating. If only he could have lived a few more days, he would have gotten the home he needed, and a family to love him during his last days. I only wish he knew how many hearts he touched and that he was loved. Thank you everyone for caring and sharing his story. Please take comfort in knowing that the kind shelter workers did bathe this boy and give him a Frontline treatment to ease his discomfort when he came in. He also had a bed (though it was plastic) with blankets. This was at least better than him dying alone outside in the elements. Run free dear Dillon, now you are without pain, you can see the grass, and hear the birds singing in doggie heaven. Please know you did not die alone, you were in the thoughts and prayers of so many.- Stacy
