With amazing women activists who established family & community activities, challenging the authorities on their post-disaster strategies in Koriyama after the Fukushima disaster. These people live 60 km away from the site & could not believe their lives would be so at risk. Radiation gets everywhere - but the government line is that we all have to die someday. We saw pamphlets & curriculum resources designed to play down the health risks of fallout & big up nuclear power. The activists no longer trust the government - now they test fruit & veg to monitor it themselves
