With apologies for the British-centric topic of this post - but it might be of some interest to those in other parts. Now that the subject of further amendment to the Licensing Act seems to have fallen by the wayside, I was wondering whether any Morris sides would say they were actually affected by the original Act? To explain a little, a new law was passed restricting the performance of music without a licence. Morris was exempted provided it used unamplified music. Later, the Act was amended to relax this restriction. So my question is did any sides modify their behaviour, or their use of instruments with and without electronic amplification, during the period when the law was in force? Speaking for my side, we ignored it and never had any complaints.
