With everyday we grow closer and closer to Ryders Birthday (just ten days left of this years round up) and the sadness is starting to set in. We wish more than anything that we were planning a 6 year olds birthday party rather than planning his memorial donations. So I thought I would share what I shared on the anniversary of his relapse. Originally written in Sept of 2013 At this moment 2 years ago I still had hope, hope that Ryder would get the miracle he deserved, it wouldnt be until about 6 oclock that evening that the hope drained from our family with one simple sentence, the cancer is back...and untreatable. This was the day that we were told it was time to take him home and hold him as long as we could. We watched for a month while the cancer did things to his body that are unimaginable. It stole his smile, his ability to talk and walk, and in the end his life. We prayed for more time with him, we prayed for his comfort and in the end we prayed for him to cross over peacefully. Ryder can still have his miracle through me, through you, through every child that plays with the Ryder toys we donate to the hospitals. Our goal is to have every toy in every hospital be donated by the community so that hospitals can save their money for treatments and expansions, our goal is that the name Ryder Richards become a house hold name in Omaha NE so we will shout from the highest places Ryder Thomas Richards was here and he was loved. ~Aunt Robin~
