With great joy, much tenderness, and mild annoyance, I announce - TopicsExpress

With great joy, much tenderness, and mild annoyance, I announce that Glen Retief and I will leave the Quaker State (PA) for the day and head over to the Empire State (NY) to be legally married. Annoying: We Quaker-Married last year here in PA but our union is not legally recognized, so last week we traveled 2.5 hours to NYS to apply for a license. Today we do the same trip to have the civil ceremony. Joy and Tenderness: Well, heck I love Glen and am happy for any and all opportunities to express that. Now we will no longer be legal strangers. We will marry in my hometown of Lake Huntington in the Gazebo built in honor of my mom, Anita Tosano, after she died. The Justice of the Peace is Mr. Nuttycomb, my 5th grade teacher and my all time favorite teacher. So the joy and tenderness FAR OUTWEIGH the annoyance and the reminder that we are not yet equal in the eyes of the law in PA. We will celebrate with pizza in Honesdale, PA flaunting our legal gay lifestyle. Pretty perfect day, eh?
