With heavy hearts we come to you this morning! :( Our mission is to help Senior Dogs and Cats in some cases we take in pets that we know will live out their lives with us in hospice care. For Brendle this is the case. He took us all for a roller coaster ride from sadness to hope to sorrow. He was surrendered to a rural shelter when his owner could no longer care for him. We do not know how old he really was as bug we estimated him to be 10 years old. The shelter staff told us that he could not walk well, couldnt see well and needed help. Thank you RADAR for helping fund his initial Vet care. Jennifer Gibson and her husband Doug pleaded with us to save him. We did and will never regret that decision. Brendle needed our help . Soon after coming to us, Jennifer noticed a growth on his tongue. It was diagnosed as a tumor, which the vet removed along with cleaning his teeth. Jennifer and Doug nurtured him through surgery, through his breathing episodes as he had Laryngeal Paralysis. He was a GIBSON through and through. Brendle followed his foster Mom and Dad everywhere including trying his best to negotiate the stairs in the house, which he could not do well with his back beginning to degenerate. Jennifer and Doug would carry him up and down the stairs. When he began to not be able to settle down and was in obvious pain. We brought him to New Baltimore Animal Hospital where Dr. Bailey took a good look at him. Even with the lightest touch you could see Brendle winch in pain. We discussed the options but in the end we all decided that it was best to let Brendle go to the Rainbow Bridge with Dignity and Love. As his condition would only get worse and he would just be more miserable. Please keep Brendles Foster Mom and Dad in your prayers to help them during this time of grieving! And Please celebrate the love and great life that Brendle had with us for the last 8 months! RIP sweet Brendle you will be missed!
