With heavy hearts we invited all parents/guardians of PRESENTLY - TopicsExpress

With heavy hearts we invited all parents/guardians of PRESENTLY REGISTERED students to a meeting in Church that, due to low enrollment and rising costs, Our Lady of Peace school is unable to open its doors this fall. With generous warmth the Catholic Community of St. James in Woodbridge has guaranteed spots for each of our registered students and transfer forms were made available at the meeting. The Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, principal and both pastors were available to answer questions and assure all that the accommodations that can be made for our families by the Diocese, Our Lady of Peace, and St. James will be made. Msgr. Andy and myself will continue to be present in the classrooms and liturgies as we move into St. James. We hope that it will be necessary to open double grades at St. James and our teachers will be offered those position first. A special thank you to them for all their dedication and sacrifice that along with Mrs. Joan Fetzer and other staff and volunteers made us what we were. Both offices of OLP Church and St. James Church and school are available to answer questions. We thank all our parents because they responded with understanding, maturity, some concerns and sadness but, ultimately were supportive of the next steps for the continued Catholic education of our children. Please, be assured we exhausted every possibility of remaining open, even for 1 more year. The parish of Our Lady of Peace, its PREP programs and youth ministry will continue to run. The chapter of our school has come to a close but, the book of Our Lady of Peace PARISH continues to be written. Let us take this page as an opportunity to share all our good and affirming memories that we have from our time at Our Lady of Peace School. Thank you for all that you have done to keep Our Lady of Peace school available to our community as long as it has been.
