With high pressure in control this weekend, the Central Coast received a lot of sunshine and above normal temperatures both on the coast and inland. That trend will continue on Labor Day. This morning, were waking up to low clouds in and around the Monterey Bay and Salinas Valley. The marine layer is about 1,500ft deep and cloud bases are at 500ft. Some fog has been reported near the coast. Today: Patchy low clouds and fog along the coast and into the Salinas Valley. Fog also possible in the hills above 500ft but mainly south and east of Monterey. Partly cloudy on the coast this afternoon with low clouds favoring the south and east sides of Monterey Bay. Highs in the upper 60s to upper 70s. Sunny and warm inland this afternoon with highs ranging from the mid 70s to upper 90s. Onshore winds pick up this afternoon. Tonight: Low clouds thicken a bit and push farther into inland valleys. Coastal lows in the mid 50s to 60º. Inland lows ranging from 50º to 60º.
