With increased traffic anticipated on our roads on the New Brunswick Day long weekend, the RCMP will also have a heightened presence. Police will be conducting traffic operations targeting a variety of unsafe driving practices, including impaired driving and failure to wear a seatbelt. So far in 2014, 17 people have died in collisions on New Brunswick roads in RCMP jurisdiction. In 2013, 20 died in crashes during the same time period. In addition to ensuring people buckle up and dont drink and drive police will also be watching for those who are driving aggressively, using handheld devices while driving, and reminding motorists about New Brunswicks Move Over law.
