"With love from Chancey" l am not very big, l am not very small, l am not really short, l am not really tall. And the colour of my hair, well shall we guess? One thing l can tell you is my life was a mess. Then a kind lady found me and her arms held me tight l gave no resistance,gave up on life so no fight. She took me with her, with my so poorly skin And with very poorly eyes, l was all bones so thin. She made sure vets saw me and did all to put right, She fed and cared for me,months - day and night. l found that this lady helps many like me along - Making sure we are saved and the weak become strong. Then with help from others who feel the same way We are given a new start and a new home to stay. Now l am healthy and well with my own home at last And my new life has begun - nothing like my sad past. l now have brothers and new sisters too, l have left a space for another to also start anew. l thank lovely Florentina who cared and so kind And l thank Blind Dog Rescue my new home they did find. l can hear, l can sense, l can feel, l can tell That l am so loved now and l feel such love as well. So although the world may seem dark through my eye l am so loved ,so cherished that you can know why This close bond was made before we ever had met My new owner says she saw my photo and could not forget. The place where l came from,it was hard to survive - Some with missing limbs, some barely alive, Some hit by cars - no one offering help - Ignoring the cries and the pitiful yelps. But everywhere there is good as well as bad How lucky we are with the rescuers we had - So l have left Florentina,we said our goodbyes, l am sure she will miss me with tears in her eyes. But now myself and others have left more spaces And so many more will need those places. So l travelled a long way with more of my kind l know l am safe now, even though l am blind. lt was only last night l arrived here --- hurray - Today has been a peaceful, wonderful day. My new owner is our nanny,( because of grandchildren,you see - ) l know how much our nanny loves all her furbabies and me. She says people will think - with so many pets she must be crazy - She says "so what? happier with pets than just being lazy"!!! She says she is so happy with her wonderful seven And with her two cats as well, to her this is heaven. There are notices in our window to show we are dear, One says "dogs running free", another "spoilt rotten dogs live here" And the notice inside the porch is one to log "This house is for the comfort of our dogs". SO THANK YOU TO FLORENTINA FOR SAVING MY LIFE AND CARING THANK YOU TO THE VETS WHO GOT ME WELL THANK YOU TO BLIND RESCUE FOR FINDING ME MY HOME AND THANK YOU TO THE PET TRANSPORT FOR BRINGING ME TO ENGLAND TO MY NEW HOME.
