With much joy in my heart Togo, I welcome my little sister Ibada - TopicsExpress

With much joy in my heart Togo, I welcome my little sister Ibada and her colleague, Abide, who are visiting the USA for one month after 10 years of trying to obtain a visa for them to visit. To me, these two young ladies represent what Alaffia fights for, as they are young Africans dedicating their lives for the betterment of our communities. Please join me in welcoming them with these photos taken a few hours ago at the Seattle airport. We will be travelling for the next few weeks and hope to see as many of you as possible. During their time in the USA, it is my hope they see the kindness and support that each one of you give to Alaffia that enables them to conduct their efforts in Togo. Humbly yours, Olowo-ndjo Tchala ----------------------------------------------------- Ibada Tchala is the Community Projects Coordinator for the Alaffia Cooperative in Togo. She directs and manages all the Alaffia community empowerment projects and coordinates the shea nut buying process from Alaffia’s 4,000 Shea Nut Collectors. Abide Awesso is the Alaffia Maternal Health Project Coordinator for the Bassar region of Togo, one of the poorest areas of the country. She oversees the prenatal and delivery care of over 200 high risk women each year, and is the coordinator of Alaffia’s excision (female circumcision) awareness and prevention project as well.
