With my immersion in middle eastern events and news lately, I am reminded of the frequency with which Arabic speaking Jews, Muslims AND Christians say Alhamdulillah--- which essentially means all praise be to God, or thanks be to God (the equivalent of the Hebrew Hallelujah) in everyday conversation. I encourage you all to remember this as a practice both because of its potential for opening dialogue and for mutual respect, a tenet of our Christian faith, but also because it reminds us that in everyday life, in ordinary life, God is present at all times and in all things.
