With one child being 9 and one being 5, I would imagine we have - TopicsExpress

With one child being 9 and one being 5, I would imagine we have about covered all of the firsts by now...WRONG! My two sweet darlings have just managed to bust a basement window out while playing outside. Oh but it gets better...I hear it and the glass hits the concrete floor and I wait. I give them both ol 15 or 20 min for someone to either come confess or tattle...nope...nothing. Hmmm? I wonder why nobody came running to tell? So here I go outside to investigate and what do I see? The two of them working so diligently and so quickly to shovel dirt and leaves into the window well as to completely cover the entire window. Guys? They freeze, What r u doing? Nobody says a word. Why dont yall come inside a second and get something to drink and a snack? U look like u r working really hard out here. What r u doing there anyway? Nothing...not a word...they drop their shovels and Clayton says Mommy I think I could use some koolaid, Im getting thirsty. In we go. Koolaid in one hand and shoving popcorn in their mouths as fast as they can Lilly says Bubbie broke the window Mommy, not me spitting half of mouthful of popcorn out. Trying to keep a straight face and not spit my popcorn out Im able to get out Oh. Yeh. The window. How come nobody come to tell me? from this point on they r both talking so fast I can barely keep up with anything either of them r saying...hands flying, heads moving back and forth, Nu uh I did not, Yeh huh u did too, Hes lying, Shes lying; I bet I can stop there, especially if u have kids. So after we have all had a chance to argue our side of the story, a verdict is reached by Judge Mommy which finds that on the charge of breaking the window...Mr. Clayton is found...GUILTY. Sentencing will occur during our next trip to Lowes when I foresee someones birthday money going to buy a new window...LOL...now this is the part of parenting I enjoy...and maybe a lil too much. Hehehe!! BUT...Lil Miss Lilly doesnt exactly walk away scott free herself. Come to find out, my normal lil squealer was the one who suggested filling the window well with dirt and leaves in hopes of covering the entire window up instead of just coming to tell me. Hmmm....I wonder just how long they really thought that was going to work? Not only would it seem really strange to shut the blinds on the window later and not notice any light at all coming thru, but the temperature at night is fairly ummm....COLD! this time of year. KIDS!!! Kids will be kids. No blood or other injuries involved this time so....lets go figure out how to patch this big whole now. Geez!! 😃
