With only four days until a major Reef dumping decision is due - TopicsExpress

With only four days until a major Reef dumping decision is due from the Minister for Environment, I’ve just realised we’re missing something… It’s not the facts – they’re already on the table and the science is in. Allowing 3 million tonnes of rock and seabed to be dumped off Abbot Point – 50km from the Whitsunday Islands – could spell disaster for the Reef. Minister Butler has this information, but this decision still hangs in the balance. What we’re missing is heart. For big decisions like this one, we need to appeal to the head and the heart. I HEART THE REEF ► The Minister is clearly listening. When he chose to delay this decision three weeks ago, he said he needed more time to consider "the views of interested parties." The new decision deadline is this Friday, meaning we’ve got four days to appeal to Minister Butler to make the right decision for the future of the Reef. Thousands of heartfelt messages of support for the Reef could tip Minister Butler’s decision. Leave one here.
