With our sport growing in popularity, more and more people are finding their way to gyms like PTC. We have a fair few beginners at our gym, which is fantastic. We believe it is our responsibility to develop and nurture new lifters and introduce them to the sport. Initially a beginner needs that nurturing to keep them on the right path. More times than not theyve come from another style of weight training that is quite different and so some adaptation is needed. Instead of running their old 6 day bodybuilding split, our beginners generally run a 3-4 day beginners style program - which can be quite a change. To help develop the beginners at PTC, Paul and I are now running a free Beginners Powerlifting session every Saturday at 9:30am for facility members who are new to powerlifting and this style of training - generally theyll be running one of our beginners programs. The concept is simple. They will come in and train as per normal, and Paul and I will be available for coaching technique, answering questions and helping with anything thats needed. If you are a beginner then consider coming down to PTC and joining our team to take advantage of these new free sessions. They will be lots of fun and youll be training with others at your own level.
