With reference to Chris Ivory and his comments re image flooding. I would like to add my own, images, recollections and childhood memories of my life, in Battersea. I was born during the war and still have vivid memories of bombs dropping all around, of air raid sirens telling us all to seek shelter, of searchlights in the sky picking out German war planes, of my father on the anti aircraft guns in Battersea Park, of both my parents guarding and guiding us as best they could under such extreme circumstance such as this. I remember neighbours as being an extension of our own family. I remember, Old Battersea, with all of the deprivation, ie the damaging lack of material benefits and basic necessities of normal life. I remember! I therefore thought that I might appease, (pacify or placate) Chris Ivory by stepping aside from the norm on Battersea Pictures and put a song on instead!
