With reference to one of my previous posts,the priorities of constituents is development and constituency development cannot be achieved to an extent if depending only on government. There are a number of non-governmental based organizations to collaborate with for the benefit of the constituency. I have outlined some methods of constituency work with non-governmental organizations but in this post,I will be expatiating a little on the method of leveraging the support of non-governmental organizations. In this method,development in the constituency is being promoted by working with civic organizations which are the non-governmental organizations(NGOs). The NGOs are to be encouraged by the constituency representative to undertake projects in the constituency and he has the capacity to identify to them what projects that are the priorities for the constituency. NGOs have the capacity to mobilize both financial,human and technical resources to effect development. Collaborating with both local and global NGOs will effect more developments in the constituency and in most cases,such collaborations bring mutual benefits. More details on these methods of constituency work that I have outlined will be found in the handbook which will be coming out soon that contains my agenda for my constituency come 2015.....TOGETHER WE CAN,YES I CAN.....
