With regards to the Cuba situation, Im afraid Im going to have to side with Sen. Marco Rubio. Lifting the embargo while Cuba is still a dictatorship is a mistake, economic activity in Cuba wont magically lead to democracy. The only people that will benefit from that are the Castro brothers and company. Just because the embargo happened decades ago doesnt mean that the reason for which it happened has disappeared. It is the same undemocratic and cruel regime that was there in the 50s and things have only gotten worse since then. No concessions can be made while Cuba remains the undemocratic dictatorship that it is. Theres one thing they have to do if they want the embargo lifted— Democracy.
