With regards to yesterday being Thanksgiving and me totally forgetting to wish everyone merry thanksgiving, pardon me and merry yesterday but aside from having been buried up to my head in making a tune and more or less losing both my identity like a passing gale, and track of days and dates, I anyway tend to shy away from automatic herd-like conformist behavior, I find it diminishing of the spirit to copy behavior patterns, and furthermore in the same way I like to promulgate the notion to let every day have the festive quality of Christmas, whether at work, rest or play, I see every day is a day to be thankful for being alive. Those are the two main Barefoot tenets when it comes to the relationship we have with days – celebrate being alive and be thankful for the privilege every single day every single hour, every single minute and every singe second, no matter how challenging the circumstances at the time. It starts as a discipline to remember to feel it but over time insinuates itself as the background context and tone in which all other though-processes occur. Resonate? Lots of earthquakes going off around the planet meantime – possibly/probably from fracking – and China and the US suddenly (though its been brewing a long while) at increasing loggerheads over China declaring sovereignty of the skies over the Diaoyu islands and extended area – as if something massive could go off geologically or geo-militarily any moment – hence why celebrating and being thankful for being alive each and every moment we still are is important. I say all that and it makes me want to stop and concentrate on feeling the joy for being in a body with a mind, on a planet that supports me, along with 7 billion experiencing similar I can share with, not to mention all the animals and the rest, and focus on feeling thankful for the experience, however long it lasts. And I know well be out of temporal synch as itll be a different moment for you when you read this than it is for me writing it but Im moved to say lets have an impromptu, discreet/internal post-Thanksgiving Thanksgiving-Celebration ceremony anyway.
