For centuries the Bible has been a source of comfort, consolation and reassurance to those who are suffering. Those who are bullied suffer physically, mentally and sometimes academically. According to Bullying Statistics (2009) there is a correlation between bullying and depression. The statistics also support that depression may lead to physical illness, anxiety, school absenteeism and low self-esteem. In addition, these problems often lead to suicide. A report by Children’s health on NBC news (2010) suggests that depression and suicidal behavior is possible whether bullying or the victim of bullying. Parents it is important to look for signs of bullying in your child through depression and suicidal thoughts. Here are eleven Bible verses that address bullying that you and your children can turn to in times of stress and need. Ephesians 4:32 Be kind to one another. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. 1 John 3:23 Love one another Along with counseling, therapy and friends the Bible may be a source of hope and refuge to build self-confidence, peace and hope for those who are suffering from bullying or being bullied.
