With special thanks to Denise Fitz for making me think. I believe I owe an awful lot of people out there an apology. I have been most vocal on my severe dislike of full beards, a bigotry which I have hidden behind a shield of supposed humour. I have no problem with any other kind of well groomed facial hair, only full beards and with their increasing popularity I have experienced increasing anger. I have come to the conclusion that I do have serious issues brought about by a hatred of my psychotic stepfather, whose cruel mind games I have long held responsible for the death of my precious mum, and who also coincidently wore a full beard all the time I knew him. I now believe that men with full beards subconsciously remind me of him and trigger an irrational hatred in me.I realise that it is my problem, not the beard wearers. Even I have come to realise its getting beyond a joke. So, if my comments on facial hair have offended anyone I apologise profusely, and rest assured you will hear no more from me on your choice of facial adornment.
