Frankly I would close down the BBC without Qualms, apart from everything in this video they have been dumbing down , and have not produced a decent documentary , dram or comedy show for years, in the age of the internet they are out of date. IF THEY ARE NOT SHUT DOWN THE ALTERNATIVE IS NOT FOR THEM to take advertising 9THERE IS PROBABLY NOT ENOUGH TO GO AROUND ANYWAY but to become a subscription service , if the subscription was no greater than the TV licence and the BBC still run as a non profit trust but with far fewer over paid managers could supply the box needed to receive the signal if you pay free of charge, they would still be able to sell programmes that they made as at present though they are not making many good ones at the moment and still make co productions . It really is quite out rageous that not paying the TV Licence is a matter for the crimminal law, at worst it should be a civil matter, that way the cost of enforcement would be met by the BBC(rather than out of taxes) and nobody could go to Jail but shut down(people who wanted it could always re start it) or convertion to a trust funded by subcriptions(and they could have fun runs and telethons LOL if they wanted to seems the best option The only defence I hear of the BBC is Well its not Fox News Well I dont watch Fox news and I dont pay for fox news and fox news dont go around extorting money from people, on the whole the only people who watch fox news are pre disposed to its bias anyway they dont pretend to be imparticial and if we can persuade enoug of them to change their views(unlikely I agree but possible in theory) we could put fox news out of business ditto the Sun which I wont even read if I see a copy left on a bus Time to take a stand against the BBC https://youtube/watch?v=lxb6ylRo3jg
