With the Melbourne International Jazz Festival now in full swing were on to Day 4 First up we have the performance of the full Drunken Boat suite by the Allan Browne Quintet (and a special guest). Inspired by Rimbauds epic poem, this is all original Australian jazz performed and written by some of Melbournes most talented musicians, all led by Hall of Fame member Allan Browne. If you havent seen this epic journey performed live before, dont miss out on this chance to see it. Doors at 6:30pm for a 7pm start Hailed around the world as one of the new exciting breed of European pianists, Livio Minafra brings his boundless energy and love of the instrument to a solo performance to the Bennetts Lane stage. With music drawing influence from jazz, to folk to childrens lullabies, Livio infuses his performances with both thought provoking adventure and thoughtful lyricism and a sense of musicianship that belies his young age. Doors at 9:30pm for a 10pm start And of course, the late night jamming of The Grid continues into the wee hours of the morning with the Jazz Jam - so bring an instrument and join in or just come and check out who does. Doors at 10:30 for a 11pm start.
