With the addition of John Les, we now have our first set of brothers on this Facebook Group Page...we decided a while back that the discussions around here would stick to the theme of a nostalgic reflection of how we remember Chilliwack as it was forty or fifty or sixty years ago. I strayed into a bit of a political area in one of my rambling discourses and had my chain yanked by the daughter of a former Chilliwack politician of some note...Doug Steinson. I remember Doug remarking once that, after being thoroughly trounced in an election for a seat in the legislature that, the people of Chilliwack almost unanimously decreed that they wanted me to stay here and teach! I feel the same way and I will paraphrase that with the people of this Group Page almost unanimously decreed that they wanted me to stick to the theme of the group! I leave you with the painting I did when the high school reunion was held in 2013, and this painting, which featured John Less Buick, sold for a princely amount to a generous contributor who felt the charitable cause for which the sale was intended, was a good one. John and his blue Buick would, in tandem with Gord Venema, ensure that the passing parade of girls at the Dari Lou, were being monitored carefully for quality control back a few years ago or so.
